GBI Charges Tiger, GA Man With Multiple Counts of Child Exploitation

In Rabun County, a joint investigation Monday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Cleveland Office and the GBI Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of a Tiger, Georgia man on child exploitation charges.

GBII spokesperson NellIe Miles tells WNEG News 22-year old Cody Whitmire of Tiger, was believed to have been in possession of graphic images and committing child molestation.

As the investigation unfolded, Agents were able to corroborate that these crimes were being committed.

On Tuesday, Whitmire was arrested and charged with 6 counts of child molestation, one count of exploitation of a child and one count of statutory rape.

Another suspect identified as Tamtha Watts was also arrested for one count of child molestation.

Miles said once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney for prosecution.
