Funeral Services Scheduled for Teen Involved in Single-Vehicle Accident

Funeral services are being held this week for the teenager who passed away last week from injuries sustained in a car accident two weeks ago.

Kainan Green, 17 of Toccoa, was a passenger in the single-vehicle accident that occurred Friday, June 30 just after midnight on Brookhaven Circle.

According to the Georgia State Patrol post in Toccoa, the vehicle was a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was traveling north on Brookhaven Circle. While trying to negotiate a right hand curve, the driver failed to maintain lane and traveled across the southbound lane. The Jeep then traveled off the road, striking trees and going down an embankment.

Three other teenagers who were in the vehicle passed away at the scene of the accident. Green was found in critical condition and transported to Northeast GA Medical Center in Gainesville.

He remained in critical condition for a week and passed away last Friday.
