Upon running the vehicle’s license plate, the deputy learned the suspect is a wanted fugitive.

During the stop, the suspect managed to escape. Details of the escape have not been released by the sheriff’s office.

A search helicopter and ground units were called in and searched overnight for the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Robert Jacob Huckaby.

He is bald and has a number of tattoos, including on his head and face.

According to Thomas, Huckaby was last believed to be somewhere around Highway 328 or Gumlog Road near Interstate 85.

If spotted, residents are warned not to approach Huckaby, but to call 911 immediately.
