Friday night shooting on Oriole Road, results in the search of 2 suspects

According to authorities from the Toccoa Police Department an early Friday morning shooting on Big A Road was a drug deal turned bad.

The Toccoa Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m., Friday, said Interim Police Chief Jimmy Mize.

Officers met victim Dennis Bradley Cromer, 38, of Martin.

On initial contact with Cromer, he was able to tell officers he was meeting two black males and one shot him.

Cromer was shot through the hand and was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

During the investigation, it was determined that Cromer was meeting the two men for a drug sale and was shot after the transaction.

The meeting and shooting took place on Oriole Drive.

Cromer drove himself to the Exxon Station, located at the intersection of Big A Road and Collins Road.

A BOLO has been put in place for two black males: one with a gray hoodie and the other was wearing Converse shoes.

The GBI was contacted to assist in the investigation and conduct forensics on the vehicle driven by Cromer.

The case is ongoing and is still being investigated.
