Friday DPH Report-Another Death in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting another death in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19.

The latest report brings a total of 25 deaths, and a total of 808 total positive cases of Covid-19.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

DPH is also reporting an additional death in Habersham County bringing that total to 62, and 1,309 total positive cases of the virus.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have tested 4,690 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 909 tests have come back positive with 721 patients receiving positive results, 3,716 received negative results, and 65 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has five patients hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and two others hospitalized awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties,  Franklin County has had 525 cases and 10 deaths, Rabun County has a total of 276 cases and 5 deaths, Hart County has had 402 cases and 10 deaths, and Banks County has a total of 362 cases and now 6 deaths, instead of the 8 that was reported on Thursday.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 265,372 cases, of those, 24,335 have been hospitalized and 5,471 have died from complications of the virus.
