Franklin Co. Elections Superintendent Resigns

Franklin County is looking for a new Elections Superintendent.
Former Elections Superintendent Tess Eubanks has resigned.
Her last day was last Friday, January 10.
“She said an opportunity had presented itself that she could not refuse,” said Franklin County Manager John Phillips Wednesday. “She said she has enjoyed working here but this opportunity came up and she could not turn it down.”
Phillips said Eubanks had been contemplating a different career path and had been going to school to prepare for it.
He said Eubanks did not give the standard two-week notice and her leaving was rather sudden.
“No, she did not,” Phillips said. “The reason she did not was because she was waiting to see if this opportunity would materialize. She had her schooling lined up and as soon as that opportunity presented itself, she turned in her resignation.”
Eubanks had been the Franklin County Elections Superintendent since January 2012.
Phillips said the county has already begun advertising for her replacement.
“We will miss Tess and her experience with the elections coming up, but we have already submitted the advertising and have begun the search process,” Phillips said.
With all the changes coming this year in the election schedule, Phillips said they hope to have someone in place as soon as possible who can pick up where Eubanks left off.
