Franklin BOE Formally Hires Forrer as New School Superintendent

The Franklin County Board of Education has formally hired Chris Forrer as the new Superintendent of the Franklin County School System.

In a called meeting last Friday, the Board voted unanimously to hire Forrer who comes to Franklin County from Madison County where he worked as the  the Director of School Improvement and Accountability for the Madison County School District.

According to his application posted on the Franklin County School Web site, Forrer has a Masters of Education Degree from Salisbury University in North Carolina.
He is currently the Director of School Improvement and Accountability for the Madison County School District.
He began his education career in Maryland where he taught grades 4, 5, and 6 before moving to Georgia where he has worked in several school districts as teacher, assistant principal and principal.
Forrer will begin his new duties on June 12 and takes over for Wayne Randall, who retired the end of this month.

Board members told Randall at the beginning of this school year that his contract would not be renewed.
