Frances Ricks Buffington

Frances Ricks Buffington, 85, of the New Franklin Community of Canon, passed away
Thursday morning, at the Nancy Hart Nursing Center in Elberton, Georgia.

Born January 17, 1938, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and
Florence Risner Ricks. She was the widow of the late Bobby Lee Buffington, and
mother-in-law of the late Nikki Guarnella Buffington, and Tommy James. She was the
sister of the late Charles Ricks, Rufus Ricks, Dorothy Crawford, Cecil Gilliam, John
Ricks, and Lloyd Gilliam. She was a seamstress and had worked at Hartwell Garment
and at Monroe Auto Equipment. She was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Buffington, Elberton, and Jimmy (Jenny) Buffington,
Canon; and daughter, Paula James, Bowman; grandchildren, Brandon, Chad, Amber,
Beth, Chase, Chole, Samuel, ; nine great-grandchildren, Breanna, Braison, Weston,
Marybella, Rayleigh, Lainey, Judson, Winter, and Walker; one sister, Bobbie Mahon,
Gray Court, SC.

Funeral Services will be Sunday afternoon at 3pm at B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with
Rev. Nate Bunner, and Rev. Reggie Vaughan. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial
Gardens, Lavonia. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Ricks, Travis Mahon, Chad
James, Chase Buffington, Samuel Guarnella, and James Mayhew.

Mrs. Buffington is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home of her daughter,
Paula, and will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm Sunday evening at the funeral home.
