Flu Clinics scheduled in Stephens, surrounding counties

Two drive-thru flu clinics will be offered at the Stephens County Health Department, 64 N Blvd in Toccoa.

The clinics, provided through the District 2 Public Health office, will take place on Tuesday, October 3 and Tuesday, November 7. Both clinics will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Drive-thru clinics are also offered in other District 2 counties. District 2 serves  Stephens, Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Towns, Union and White Counties.

In Franklin County, the drive through clinics will be offered October 3 at the Senior Center in Carnesville from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., October 5 at the Royston Housing Authority from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and October 24 at the Lavonia Fire Department behind City Hall from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Banks County, the single clinic will be held on October 2 at the Banks County Health Department from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Habersham’s clinic will be held on September 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Habersham County Health Department.

According to a press release by the District 2 Public Health office, the drive-thru flu clinics are scheduled to be “streamlined and efficient” and will focus on the safety and convenience of participants.

No appointments are necessary and participants will remain in their vehicles at all times. 

Trained healthcare professionals will administer the flu vaccine, adhering to strict safety and hygiene protocols.

All health departments accept most commercial insurance plans, including Medicare, and Medicaid for no co-pay.  Self-pay pricing is available for those who are uninsured or under-insured.
