Firefighters respond to early morning blaze at Applegate

Early this morning, July 6, local firefighters from several Toccoa and Stephens County Fire Stations responded to a fire at Applegate Insulation at 241 Meadowbrook Drive in Eastanollee.

The call came in at approximately 4:30 a.m. according to Toccoa Fire Chief Jeff Haslup, who told WNEG News that the blaze originated in two of the facility’s machines. The fire set off six sprinkler heads, he added.

Approximately 25 firefighters responded to the fire, and brought the blaze under control by 6:30 a.m., Haslup said.

There were no injuries, according to Haslup.
