Festival of Trees Winner Announced; Viewing & Donations Continue

Main Street Toccoa has announced the winners of the 16th annual Festival of Trees.

Thirteen beautifully decorated trees are on display at Thacker Hall at 59 W Doyle St. to help raise funds for local non-profits. Voting took place on Friday, December 1 st at the annual Christmas Fest event in downtown Toccoa. Visitors were able to vote by donating $1 to the tree of their choice. All funds collected will be received by the designated non-profit and Main Street Toccoa will award the top three fundraisers with an additional prize for the non-profit.

The tree for the Love Him Love Them non-profit received the most votes at 2,204 and claimed the grand prize of $500. Their tree was decorated by Linda Gunter, Inger Neal and Ashley Sharp. In second place and receiving a $200 prize was the tree for Toccoa Stephens County Humane Shelter. Realtor Stephanie Burdette was the sponsor of the Humane Shelter entry and her tree received 1,458 votes. Finally, a $100 prize went to the third-place tree from Steadfast Family Farm whose entry collected 279 votes.

All 13 participating trees will remain on display in Thacker Hall until December 14 th . The building will be open for viewing and receiving donations during the Toccoa on Ice hours on Friday from 5pm-9pm, Saturday from Noon-9pm, and Sunday from 1p-6p.
