Fatal Wreck still under Investigation

Still no word on whether charges will be filed against a juvenile involved in a wreck that killed a Toccoa mother and her daughter.

On Monday, Georgia State Patrol Toccoa Post commander Sgt. Chad Johnson said investigators with the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team are waiting for the results of a toxicology report, which he said could take several weeks.

GSP troopers say early on the morning of Saturday, September 9, a 2010 Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on Highway 365 in Habersham County when it crossed the center median into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2010 Chevy Cobalt.

The impact killed the driver of the Chevy, identified as 29-year old Allyson Lauren Franklin, of Toccoa, and her passenger, 65-year old Kathy Franklin, also of Toccoa.

The driver of the Ford Fusion, a 16-year old male, was air-lifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital with multiple serious injuries.

Johnson said the juvenile continues to recover from his injuries.

His name has not been released because he is a juvenile.
