Fatal Wreck in Franklin Co. Last Week

A fatal wreck occurred in Franklin County last week.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas it happened Tuesday night on New Bethel Road.
“Tuesday night, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies and GSP responded to an accident in the New Bethel Church community,” said Thomas. “One vehicle, two occupants in the vehicle, the driver, Kayla Cobb was arrested and carried to the Franklin Co. Detention Center and the passenger has some very serious injuries. He was transported to the hospital.”
The passenger, 23-year-old Curtis Roy Hall of Eastanollee, died of his injuries at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center on Wednesday.
According to a report from GSP, Cobb who is 25, was driving a Ford F-150 when she left the roadway, then crossed back over New Bethel road striking a utility box then crossed the road again, striking a fence and a tree before coming to a rest.
Cobb has been charged  with first-degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and tire requirements.
