Fatal accident claims life of a Mineral Bluff man

A Monday morning accident that claimed the life of a Mineral Bluff man is being investigated by the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT).

According to a report issued by the GSP, the accident occurred at 7:15 a.m. on Memorial Drive after a 2013 Ford Explorer, driven by Skylar Zane Cisson, 17, of Eastanollee, attempted to cross Ga 17.

As Cisson entered the South bound lane of GA 17, his vehicle failed to yield to the right-of-way of a 2008 Harley Davidson FLHR Motorcycle, driven by James Howard Gibbs, 28, of Mineral Bluff.

The motorcycle struck the front left quarter panel of the Ford Explorer, fatally injuring Gibbs.

According to Troopers, charges are pending.
