Employee of a Lula Business burglarizes own store

Officers with the Toccoa Police Department recently responded to an unknown disturbance call at a business on Big A Road.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, upon the arrival of officers, they were met by an employee from Lula’s Dollar General she was identified as Amanda Perkins, 25, of Alto.

Mize said that Perkins told officers she had received a phone call from an unknown male claiming to be “CFS” or “FBI,” he instructed her to take the store’s deposit and all the cash from the four drawers and put the money in a black bag.

The officers then placed a call to Hall County’s Dispatch to see if there had been any calls regarding the Lula Dollar General. During the call, officers found out that Hall County was working a break in at that location and to detain Perkins.

According to Mize, Perkins had in her possession 1s, 5s, 10s, 20s, 50s and 100 dollar bills and more currency was found in her vehicle.

All monies were turned over to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office along with Perkins to be charged with burglary.

Perkins has no charges pending in Toccoa.
