Election results for State races

In State races, Georgia voters returned the polls to select party candidates for a number of races.

The Republican candidate selected to run against Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams, in the Georgia Governor Race, is Brian Kemp.

Kemp received 69.45 percent of the vote across the state of Georgia; whereas Casey Cagle amassed only 30.55 percent of votes.

However, locally, Cagle received 1418 votes, and Kemp only gained the support of 891 local voters.

The Republican candidate selected to run against Democratic candidate Sarah Amico, in the Georgia Lieutenant Governor race is Geoff Duncan.

Duncan received 50.16 percent of the vote across the state of Georgia; whereas David Shafer received 49.84 percent of votes.

The Republican candidate selected to run against Democratic candidate John Barrow, in the Georgia Secretary of State race is Brad Raffensperger.

Raffensperger received 61.76 percent of the vote across the state of Georgia; whereas, David Belle Isle only received 38.24 percent of votes.

The Democratic candidate selected to run against Incumbent Richard Woods, in the State Schools Superintendent race is Otha E. Thornton, Jr., with a total of 59.10 percent of the vote.

The general election is slated for Tuesday, November 6.
