Election day is tomorrow in Toccoa-Stephens County

Tomorrow is election day in Toccoa-Stephens County.

At the close of business on Friday, 1,446 residents had cast early ballots.

For anyone who is waiting for election day to vote, the voting precinct, at the Stephens County Senior Center, located on Rose Lane, will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

According to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober there are no local run-off elections in Stephens County, but she says voters will cast ballots in the State House District 50 run-off between Republicans Bo Hatchett and Stacy Hall.

Voters will also be choosing candidates in both a Republican and Democratic run-off for the U.S. House of Representatives District 9 race to replace Congressman Doug Collins, who is running in the November election to fill the unexpired term of Senator Johnny Isakson who retired last December.

On the Republican side, voters will choose between Gainesville businessman Andrew Clyde and State Representative Matt Gurtler.

On the Democratic side, voters will decide between Brooke Siskin and Devin Pandy.

Gober says there has been some confusion at the Registrar’s Office with residents coming in to cast ballots for Doug Collins; however, she says Collins is not on this ballot, but he will be on the ballot in November.

Additionally, anyone who requested an absentee ballot, must return them to the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m. tomorrow.
