Election Day is tomorrow in Toccoa-Stephens County

Election Day is tomorrow in Toccoa-Stephens County.

According to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober, residents wishing to cast a ballot will vote at the Stephens County Senior Center from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

During the advance voting period there were over 7,500 residents to cast advance ballots.

As a reminder, all absentee ballots are due back to the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday.

As WNEG News told you recently, it takes an average of 9 days for the Registrar’s Office to receive absentee ballots through the mail.

Gober says because it is taking so long for her office to receive those absentee ballots that she is afraid that those mailing their ballots in won’t be delivered until after the November 3 deadline.

She recommends that instead of mailing your absentee ballots through the postal service, you should use the Ballot Box located in front of the Stephens County Government Building or to drop them off at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office.

Gober says the Ballot Box is checked twice daily, so residents should feel confident in knowing the Registrar’s Office will receive the ballot.

Again, residents wishing to cast ballots on Election Day, November 3, will vote at the Stephens County Senior Center located on Roselane, in Toccoa.
