Update: Most wanted man in Anderson Caught by Elbert County resident

The high-speed chase, foot pursuit and eventual manhunt for a suspect involving stolen vehicles was located and arrested on Thursday morning. As the story turns out, the suspect is actually the most wanted suspect in Anderson, S.C.

The suspect, 32-year-old Nicholas Blake Phillips was spotted by an Elbert County resident and held at gunpoint by the resident until law enforcement officials arrived and placed him under arrest. Also arrested was 22-year-old Taylor Brooke Pierce.

Phillips’ first encounter with law enforcement occurred in Franklin Springs on Wednesday morning when a Georgia State Patrol officer attempted a traffic stop. The suspect led officers from multiple agencies on a high-speed chase through Royston and Bowman, then crashed the stolen truck he was driving in Elbert County

Law enforcement officials, including helicopters and K-9 units, searched for the remainder of Wednesday for the suspect with no success.

Phillips was located Thursday morning when an Elbert County resident found Phillips hiding on his property. The resident then held Phillips at gunpoint until help arrived.

Phillips is facing numerous traffic charges in Franklin County as well as theft charges.

Pierce was arrested on Wednesday night while following Phillips in a separate stolen vehicle. Pierce was also wanted in Anderson, South Carolina on an outstanding warrant for grand larceny in connection with a stolen vehicle from Budget Inn.
