Eastanollee woman arrested after hit-and-run accident

An Eastanollee woman has been arrested after she was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, the incident occurred on November 28, when officers observed a Black Ford Fusion that was described in an earlier hit-and-run accident with a female sitting in the drive seat.

Mize says a traffic stop was then performed and contact was made with the driver, identified as 30-year-old Shelley Ann Brown, of Eastanollee.

Brown had felony warrants, one for theft by taking and the other for hit-and-run.

Mize says that Brown told officers that she was not driving the car when it hit another vehicle at a Toccoa convenience store on an earlier date; however, the officer assured her that video pulled from the store did in fact reveal that it was her.

Upon a search prior to arrest, a pipe consistent with smoking Methamphetamine was located in her pocket and a red straw was located in the passenger floorboard of the vehicle.

Mize adds that officers also located an open container of beer by the front passenger seat.

Brown was arrested on the outstanding warrants and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession and use of drug related objects.

She was transported to the Stephens County Jail.
