Eastanollee man indicted in Stephens County for aggravated assault

An Eastanollee man has been indicted in Stephens County for two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The Stephens County Grand Jury indicted 19-year-old Troy’Onta Ry’Tarious Finley earlier this week for an incident that occurred on May 19.

As WNEG News initially reported, 17-year-old Cassidy Blalock, of Toccoa, was shot at 16 Ruby Street.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on May 19, officers were dispatched to Ruby Street in reference to shots fired with one injury.

Upon arrival, Mize says, officers made contact with the victim and rendered aid until EMS arrived on scene.

Officers were advised a burgundy Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis with a white front bumper had fled the scene following the shots being fired.

Mize says, as officers spread out and searched for the suspect vehicle, 911 Dispatch radioed that the suspect vehicle had been stopped by the Georgia State Patrol in Lavonia.

Investigators arrived on scene and confirmed that this was the vehicle seen leaving the scene of the shooting.

Toccoa Police took custody of Finley, where he was taken to the interview room at the Toccoa Police Department and from there to the Stephens County Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Assault.

Blalock was transported from the scene to Stephens County Hospital where she was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
