Early voting for run-off election begins the week

Stephens County will hold the May Primary Run-Off Election later this month.

The two candidates vying for the Stephens County Board of Commissioners’ Post 4 seat are James Addison and Bryan Dooley.

Election day is scheduled for July 24; however, you can begin casting your ballot now, during the early voting period.

The polls opened yesterday morning, for early voting, and will remain open until Friday, July 20, excluding tomorrow, when the registrar’s office closes to observe Independence Day.

On Thursday, July 5, the registrar’s office will resume normal operations.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from today through July 20.

Stephens County Registrar Bill Cochran told WNEG News about the run-off election.

Cochran said that if you submitted an absentee ballot during the General Primary Election this past May, you will receive an absentee ballot, for the run-off, through the mail.

To see a sample ballot, visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov or come by the Registrar’s Office.

All early voting is at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, which is located in the Stephens County Courthouse Annex on Tugalo Street in downtown Toccoa.
