Early Voting continues this week in Toccoa-Stephens County

Early voting continues this week in Toccoa-Stephens County.

That’s according to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober.

The advance voting period began on Monday, December 14, and Gober says all advance voting is done at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office inside the Historic Stephens County Courthouse.

The early voting period will continue this week Monday through Wednesday, December 23, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

On December 24th and 25th, the Registrar’s Office will be closed for the Christmas Holiday.

Gober says early voting will resume on December 28, and run through December 31 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Registrar’s Office will also be closed on January 1, 2021, for the New Year’s Holiday.

Gober says the Registrar’s Office is not holding a Saturday voting during this advance voting period.

Anyone wishing to vote by absentee ballot can request an application for one by calling the Registrar’s Office at 706-886-8954.

All absentee ballots are due back to the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Additionally, there is a ballot box located in front of the Government Building for Absentee Ballots to be dropped off at.

Gober says the Ballot Box is checked twice daily, so residents should feel confident that the Registrar’s Office will receive their ballots.

The General Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
