Early Voting continues in Toccoa-Stephens County

Early voting continues today in Toccoa-Stephens County.

That’s according to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober.

The advance voting period began on Monday, December 14.

She says all advance voting will be done at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office inside the Historic Stephens County Courthouse.

The early voting period will continue Monday through Friday, through December 23, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

On December 24th and 25th, the Registrar’s Office will be closed for the Christmas Holiday.

Gober says early voting will resume on December 28, and run through December 31 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Registrar’s Office will also be closed on January 1, 2021, for the New Year’s Holiday.

Gober says the Registrar’s Office will not hold a Saturday voting during this advance voting period.

Anyone wishing to vote by absentee ballot can request an application for one by calling the Registrar’s Office at 706-886-8954.

All absentee ballots are due back to the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Additionally, there is a ballot box located in front of the Government Building for Absentee Ballots to be dropped off at.

Gober says the Ballot Box is checked twice daily, so residents should feel confident that the Registrar’s Office will receive their ballots.

The General Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
