Early voting begins today, in Stephens County

Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary and the General Election begins today in Toccoa-Stephens County.

According to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober early voting will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., until Friday, June 5, at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, inside the Stephens County Historical Courthouse.

She adds that during the early voting period there will be one Saturday voting held, on May 30, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Gober says due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Registrar’s Office has taken measures to help reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Additionally, Gober says anyone who would like to vote by absentee ballot can still request an application for one.

All absentee ballots are due back to the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m., June 9.

There is a Ballot Box located in front of the Government Building for Absentee Ballots to be dropped off at.

The Presidential Preference Primary and General Election will be held on Tuesday, June 9.
