Drug Ring Dismantled, 3 arrested

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office has been on a roll recently with more than three large-scale drug operations being shut down by investigators this past month.

Another investigation ends in the dismantling of a drug ring located in Stephens County.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley recently announced that on April 4, investigators with his office executed a search warrant at 118 Bellvue Dr., in Toccoa, which lead to multiple arrests.

According to Shirley, Investigators conducted the search following a lengthy investigation into illegal narcotics being sold at the residence on Bellvue Dr.

After making several undercover buys of methamphetamine from Pattie Dawn Mills, 61, of Toccoa, investigators were lead to her supplier Michael Cody Terrell, 34, of Roswell.

Shirley explained that his investigators had observed Terrell at the residence and put into action a plan to take down both Mills and Terrell.

During the operation investigators located methamphetamine along with scales and packaging material inside the residence; however, inside Terrell’s vehicle was where investigators found a cache of narcotics.

Shirley said that K-9 handler Cpl. Randy Mobley along with his K-9 partner “Gunner” located a hidden compartment inside Terrell’s vehicle which contained over an ounce of meth, over 1,000 Xanax, over 70 Oxycodone and over 200 Ecstasy pills.

Shirley added that a large quantity of cash was also found on Terrell’s person.

During an interview with Mills, she confessed to operating a narcotic ring from her residence where she had multiple runners she supplied with meth.

In all three suspects were arrested as a result of the investigation.

Mills, was arrested and charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute.

Rowland Scott Lunday, 52, of Toccoa, was arrested and charged with possession of meth.

Terrell was arrested and charged with trafficking meth, trafficking Ecstasy, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a schedule IV controlled substance with intent to distribute.
