Dr. Kenneth Conoley

On March 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and the Father’s amazing Grace, Dr. Kenneth Conoley, age 93 of Toccoa went to his heavenly home.

He was born in Atlanta GA on January 17, 1931, the son of John James Conoley Sr. and Grace Moore Conoley, and was the younger brother of Jack Jr. He graduated from North Druid Hills High School and at 16 years of age entered Emory University. After graduating, he attended the Medical College of Georgia where one of his professors helped him to discover his true love of pediatric medicine. After graduating, he moved to California and began his residency at Los Angeles County Hospital. Before completion of his residency, he was drafted into the army as a medic and paratrooper. He did his training at Ft Bragg in the 82 Airborn as a Captain and was then sent to Panama to serve. Upon his return from the army, he completed his residency in California. In 1960, a college buddy contacted him about a need for a pediatrician at Toccoa Medical Arts Clinic. He then moved to Toccoa and began his lifelong career of caring for children in the community. He retired from Toccoa Clinic in 1995 and in 2006 he and his wife Dot moved to Athens Ga. In March 2024, he returned to live in Toccoa and happily began to reunite with many Toccoa friends. He was a member of Toccoa First Methodist Church, a place dear to him and his family. Dr. Conoley loved and enjoyed many things. He was an avid reader and he spent a majority of his day with a book, and later in life, his well worn Kindle in his hands. He loved to travel and during his lifetime had an opportunity to visit many different cities and countries. He loved Lake Hartwell where he designed and built his dream home. He was very artistic and enjoyed gardening, painting, and playing piano. First and foremost, he loved his community, his family, and especially his profession.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jack Conoley Jr.
