DPH still reporting 147 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 147 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

As of Wednesday evening, Stephens County has had three deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County continues to be the county hit the hardest in our area with 572 positive cases of the virus and 26 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, the latest information from Stephens County Hospital- staff have tested 1,112 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 130 tests have come back positive, 971 received negative results, and 11 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 130 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 99 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

Additionally, there is one patient currently hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with a confirmed case of COVID-19, and three others awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Banks County has a total of 100 cases with one death, Rabun County has 28 cases and one death, Franklin County has 134 cases and one death, and Hart County has 39 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 53,980 cases, of those, 8,974 have been hospitalized and 2,329 have died from complications of the virus.
