DPH Reports Two More Deaths Related to Covid-19 in Stephens

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health shows Stephens County with two more deaths related to Covid-19 bringing the total to 38.

The latest reports shows Stephens County with 1,050 positive cases since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

DPH is also reporting Habersham County with one additional death and a total of 67, and now 1,633 total positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Rabun County is still reporting 9 deaths and now 335 cases, Hart County has had 13 deaths and 505 cases, Banks County is reporting 7 deaths and 478 cases, and Franklin County has had 747 cases and 12 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 312,514 cases, of those, 28,305 have been hospitalized and 6,874 have died from complications of the virus.

The Stephens County School System has released the Covid-19 Weekly Update for the week ending September 25th:

2 Staff members with a positive Covid-19 test

3 staff members quarantined

32 students quarantined at home

3, 929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually

536 current employees

Again, the numbers represented in the school system are current active cases as of 9/25/20 and does not represent a running total.
