DPH Reports Stephens with 32 Positive Covid-19 Cases in Last Two Days

For the second consecutive day, the Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting 16 more positive cases in Stephens County, or a total of 32 in the last two days.

DPH is now reporting that there has been a total of 743 positive cases of Covid-19 in Stephens County.

That is a total of 64 more positive cases since the report a week ago.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

The Friday report still shows 19 deaths in Stephens County due to complications of the virus.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have tested 4,574 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 887 tests have come back positive with 703 patients receiving positive results (some have tested positive multiple times), 3,581 received negative results, and 106 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has seven patients hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19, and two others who are hospitalized pending test results.

DPH is now reporting 54 deaths in Habersham County and a total of 1,263 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties,  Hart County is reporting 10 deaths and 375 cases, Franklin County has had 491 cases and six deaths, Banks County has a total of 324 cases and now seven deaths, and Rabun County is reporting four deaths and a total of 247 cases of the virus.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 249,630 total positive cases, of those, 23,125 were hospitalized, and 4,998 have died from complications of the virus.
