DPH Reports Multiple Covid Related Deaths in Habersham and Franklin

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 63 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County, and 22 more positive cases of the virus bringing the total to 2,617 since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Tuesday afternoon.

The latest report has Habersham County with three more deaths bringing that total to 112 and now 4,276 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County has had two more deaths to now total 28, and now 2,066 positive cases, Rabun County is still reporting 31 deaths and now 1,318 cases, Hart County is reporting 1,507 cases and 27 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 25 deaths and now 1,418 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, the rate of positive cases went back up after two days of lower rates. DPH reports 5,690 positive cases since Monday bringing the total to 727,752, of those 417 were hospitalized for a total now of 48,915 and the rate of deaths also increased with 142 more deaths since Monday and a death rate that now totals 11,996.
