DPH Reports First Covid-Related Death in Stephens in Over a Week

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting another COVID-related death in Stephens County bringing the total to 72, and now 2,885 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Wednesday afternoon and showed an addition of 17 positive cases in the area and two additional deaths.

Banks County is also reporting another death for a total now of 34, and 1,576 cases.

The latest report has Habersham County with one less death than earlier reported with a total now of 138 and now 4,553 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has had 37 deaths and 2,281 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,443 cases and 37 deaths, Hart County is reporting 1,667 cases and 35 deaths.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were 1,157 positive cases across the state of Georgia since Tuesday. There have been a total of 831,271 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those 123 were hospitalized, a total now of 57,094 have been hospitalized and 59 more died, bringing the total death count in the state due to complications of the virus now to 15,706.
