DPH Reports Covid Related Death for 2nd Straight Day

For the second straight day, the Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting a death in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19 bringing the total to 75 with 2,924 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County is still reporting 40 deaths and now 2,297 positive cases of the virus. Habersham County is still reporting 143 deaths and now 4,578 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,462 cases and 38 deaths, Hart County is reporting 1,682 cases and 35 deaths, and Banks County is reporting 33 deaths and 1,591 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 847,805 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 58,407 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 16,417.
