DPH reports another death in Stephens County due to COVID-19

The Stephens County School System has released the latest weekly Covid-19 update for the week ending December 11, 2020:

3 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

6 staff members quarantined at home.

202 students quarantined at home.

7 students with a positive Covid-19 test.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent the current active cases as of Friday, December 11th and not a running total.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting 47 deaths in Stephens County and now a total of 1,774 confirmed positive cases of Covid-19.

The latest report was released Sunday afternoon.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 82 deaths, and 2,759 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County has had 1,332 positive cases of the virus and 21 deaths, Rabun County is now reporting 14 deaths and now 771 cases, Hart County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 876 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 12 deaths, and now 924 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 476,044 cases across the state, of those, 37,637 have been hospitalized. The total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 9,205.
