DPH Reports Another Death in Stephens-Better Rates Statewide

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting another death in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19 bringing the total to 31. Today’s announcement marks the 18th death in Stephens County in the past 30 days due to complications of the virus.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

DPH now has a total of 917 positive cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County since the beginning of the global pandemic.

In other neighboring counties, the death total in Habersham County moved down two and DPH is now reporting 63, and now 1,432 total positive cases of the virus, Franklin County has had 647 cases and 11 deaths, Rabun County still has a total of 305 cases and 7 deaths, Hart County has had 461 cases and 11 deaths, and Banks County has a total of 423 cases and 6 deaths.

The rate of positive cases, hospitalizations, and deaths across the state have improved this week and showed in Friday’s report.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 290,781 confirmed cases, less than 1700 cases from Thursday’s report, of those 101 more were hospitalized bringing that total to 26,183, and 42 more died from complications of the virus bringing the total to 6,246.
