DPH Reports Another Death-25 more cases in Stephens

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting yet another death in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19 bringing the total now to 27.

DPH is now reporting 25 more total positive cases of Covid-19 in Stephens bringing that total to 845.

The latest report was released Monday afternoon.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have administered 4,782 COVID-19 tests.

Of those, 939 tests have come back positive with 744 patients receiving positive results, 3,796 received negative results, and 47 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has three patients hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and four others hospitalized awaiting results.

In neighboring counties, DPH is reporting just a slight raise in positive case numbers since Sunday.

DPH is still reporting 63 deaths in Habersham County and 1,341 total positive cases of the virus, Franklin County has had 554 cases and 11 deaths, Rabun County still has a total of 278 cases and 5 deaths, Hart County has had 412 cases and 10 deaths, and Banks County has a total of 377 cases and 6 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting over 5000 new cases and a total of 270,471, of those, 24,604 have been hospitalized and 5,632 have died from complications of the virus.
