DPH Reports 50th Covid Related Death in Stephens

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting another death related to Covid-19 in Stephens County bringing the total to 50. DPH now says Stephens County has had 2,345 residents test positive for the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

A day after there was over 7,000 positive Covid-19 cases across the state, the Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting over 10,000 more cases on Friday, bringing the two day total to nearly 18,000 new positive cases.

The total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic now total 620,247. Of those, 44,187 have been hospitalized, nearly 1600 since Wednesday, and 145 have died during that same period, bringing the total to 10,180.

The latest report has two more deaths in Habersham County, bringing the total to 95 and 59 more positive cases of the virus since Thursday bringing that total to 3,817. Rabun County is also reporting another death bringing that total to 21 and now 1,134 cases, Franklin County is reporting another death, bringing that total to 23 and now 1,797 cases, Hart County is still reporting 22 deaths and now 1,296 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 1,246 cases.
