DPH reports 41 deaths, 1,239 positive cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health has Stephens County with 41 deaths related to Covid-19, a decrease of one since Friday, and 1,239 positive cases of the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Sunday afternoon.

Locally, the Stephens County Schools Covid-19 update for the week ending October 16th is as follows:

1 staff member with a positive Covid-19 test.

3 staff members quarantined.

71 students quarantined at home.

3 positive students.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent current active cases and are not a running total.

DPH is now reporting two more deaths in Habersham County bringing that total to 74, and now 1,828 total positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, DPH is reporting 16 deaths in Hart County and still 556 cases, Rabun County is  reporting 11 deaths and 412 cases, Banks County is still reporting 8 deaths, but now 540 cases, and Franklin County with 834 total positive cases and 17 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 340,558 cases, of those, 30,376 have been hospitalized and 7,638 have died from complications of the virus.
