DPH reports 163 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health reports 163 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

The latest report from DPH was Friday afternoon.

Stephens County has had five deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County has had 630 positive cases of the virus and 34 fatalities now due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 1,532 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 164 tests have come back positive with 131 patients receiving positive results, 1,283 received negative results, and 85 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 131 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 110 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

Additionally, there is one patient currently hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with a confirmed case of COVID-19, and one other who is awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County increased by 8 cases since Thursday and now show 154, Banks County has a total of 113 cases, Rabun County has 33 cases and four deaths, and Hart County has 47 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 62,009 cases, of those, 9,772 have been hospitalized and 2,636 have died from complications of the virus.
