DPH reports 152 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health continues to report 152 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

To date, Stephens County has had four deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County continues to be the county hit the hardest in our area with 593 positive cases of the virus and 30 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 1,220 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 143 tests have come back positive, 1,051 received negative results, and 26 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 143 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 107 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

Additionally, there are two patients currently hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with a confirmed case of COVID-19, and one other who is awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Banks County has a total of 108 cases with one death, Rabun County has 31 cases and two deaths, Franklin County has 138 cases and one death, and Hart County has 43 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 57,681 cases, of those, 9,248 have been hospitalized and 2,451 have died from complications of the virus.
