DPH reports 145 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting 145 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

According to the latest DPH report on Monday afternoon Stephens County has had three deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County now has had 562 positive cases of the virus, and now 26 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 1,112 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 130 tests have come back positive, 971 received negative results, and 11 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 130 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 99 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

Additionally, there is one patient currently hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with a confirmed case of COVID-19, and three others awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County now has 134 cases and one death, Banks County has a total of 90 cases with one death, Rabun County has 26 cases and one death,  and Hart County has 40 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 52,497 cases, of those, 8,746 have been hospitalized and 2,208 have died from complications of the virus.
