UPDATE: DPH reports 15 cases of COVID-19, SCH treating 8

The Department of Public Health continues to monitor COVID-19 across the state of Georgia and each county.

In Stephens County, the Department of Public Health released on Tuesday afternoon that there are 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of those 15, eight are being treated at Stephens County Hospital.

As of Wednesday morning, the hospital has tested 77 individuals for the virus, 52 of those received negative results, and 17 results are still pending.

According to Stephens County Hospital Vice President of Physician Practices Van Loskoski this is the time of year that patients typically experience flu, strep, sinus infection, cold and allergies.

WNEG News announced on Monday, that Stephens County Hospital confirmed that one resident at the Clary Care Center tested positive for COVID-19.

Loskoski says the hospital has tested others in the Clary Care Center, following the initial positive result; however, all of those tests have come back negative.

He adds that the hospital continues to monitor the residents at the Clary Care Center.
