DPH Reporting Deaths in Stephens and Franklin Due to Covid-19

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting another death in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19 bringing the total to 74 with 2,922 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

Franklin County is also reporting another death bringing the total to 40 and still 2,295 positive cases of the virus.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

In other neighboring counties, Habersham County is still reporting 143 deaths and now 4,577 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,459 cases and 38 deaths, Hart County is reporting 1,681 cases and 35 deaths, and Banks County is reporting 33 deaths and 1,590 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 846,745 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 58,304 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 16,336.
