DPH now reporting 1,123 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health has Stephens County with 1,123 positive cases of the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic, and 38 deaths related to the virus.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

The latest report for the Stephens County School System for the week ending October 2nd:

4 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

2 staff members quarantined.

121 students quarantined at home.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these are numbers that represent the current active cases as of 10/2/2020 and are not a running total.

DPH shows Habersham County with a total of 71 deaths and 1,733 total positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Rabun County is still reporting 10 deaths and now 378 cases, Hart County has had 13 deaths and 528 cases, Banks County is reporting 8 deaths and 503 cases, and Franklin County with 775 total positive cases and 13 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 322,925 cases, of those, 28,958 have been hospitalized and 7,162 have died from complications of the virus.
