DPH Covid-19 Report Reflects Case Rise in State and Locally

As the state of Georgia and and the nation begin distribution of the vaccine for Covid-19, the latest numbers continue to reflect a rise in positive cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were nearly 5,000 positive cases of the virus across the state since Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 484,152, and of those, 38,111 have been hospitalized. The total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 9,250.

The latest report was released Tuesday afternoon.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 47 deaths in Stephens County and now a total of 1,817 confirmed positive cases of Covid-19, an increase of 37 cases since Monday.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 82 deaths, and now 2,835 positive cases of the virus, an increase of 68 cases.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County has had 1,361 positive cases of the virus and 21 deaths, Rabun County is now reporting 14 deaths and now 795 cases, Hart County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 895 cases, and Banks County is now reporting 13 deaths, and now 948 cases.
