DPH Covid-19 Report for Tuesday

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health  has Stephens County with 1,064 positive cases of the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic, and 38 deaths related to the virus.

The latest report was released Tuesday afternoon.

DPH is still reporting Habersham County with 67 deaths, and now 1,654 total positive cases of the virus.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have administered 5,175 COVID-19 tests.

Of those, 1,041 tests have come back positive with 830 patients receiving positive results, some have tested positive on multiple occasions, 4,116 received negative results, and 18 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has three patients hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and four others hospitalized awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Rabun County is reporting 9 deaths and 341 cases, Hart County has had 13 deaths and now 515 cases, Banks County is reporting 8 deaths and 487 cases, and Franklin County’s numbers is one less than Monday with 752 cases and 13 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 316,306 cases, of those, 28,339 have been hospitalized and 6,994 have died from complications of the virus.
