Dorsey tenders resignation at BOE meeting Tuesday

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey is resigning.

Dorsey will continue as Superintendent through the Spring of 2020.

The resignation was accepted by the Stephens County Board of Education at their regular scheduled meeting Tuesday.

In his letter, Dorsey writes that he is appreciative of the opportunity to serve Stephens County School System, and is grateful to work alongside such a dedicated team.

Dorsey was first hired by the Stephens County BOE and signed an initial three-year contract on May 1, 2014.

During his time as School Superintendent, he has lead the board through the transition of the school system becoming a charter system, among other things.
