Donny and Debby Williams returning as Head Coach and Assistant Coach for SCHS’s Tennis Teams

Two former Stephens County tennis coaches will be returning to lead the tennis program.

Stephens County High School Athletic Director, Chuck King, has announced the hiring of Donny Williams as the head coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams, taking over for Thomas Flowers.

Donny’s wife, Debby, will serve as assistant coach.

Both retired as high school tennis coaches after the 2021 season.

Coach King said “This is so good for our students, school, community, and tennis program to have these two stepping back into very familiar roles and steering our tennis program at SCHS.”

Donny will be beginning his 17th year with the high school and varsity tennis, making him the longest tenured tennis coach at Stephens County.

As head coach, Donny has led his teams to 182 wins and 10 State Tournaments.  Debby will be beginning her fifth season of coaching tennis at SCHS.

As girls head coach, she guided her teams into the state tournament two out of four seasons, including making the Final Four of the State Tournament in 2021.
