Dinh named Stephens County’s STAR student for 2021

Stephens County names its STAR student.

This week, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce announced that Arvin Dinh, of Stephens County High School has been named the 2021 Professional Association of Georgia Educators STAR Student for Stephens County.

Dinh earned this recognition for his academic achievement and performance on the S.A.T.

Dinh is the son of Loan Vo and Danny Dinh.

To obtain the 2021 STAR nomination, graduating high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the S.A.T and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average.

As the STAR student, Dinh picked Stephens County High School Mathematics teacher Lynne Fisher as his STAR teacher.

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce is the local sponsor for the Stephens County STAR Program.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen made the announcement earlier this week

Paysen says on behalf of the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce, she is proud of Dinh’s academic excellence.

Dinh will now represent Stephens County at the Region STAR Student competition.

After graduating high school, Dinh will pursue an education in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta this fall.
