Deaths Rise Across State and Surrounding Area

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 63 deaths in Stephens County and now 2,567 residents that have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

DPH is reporting additional deaths in surrounding counties.

The latest report has another deaths in Habersham County bringing the total deaths to 108 and now 4,222 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Rabun County is  reporting two more deaths for a total now of 31 and now 1,286 cases,  Hart County is reporting another death for a total now of 26 and now 1,472 cases, Banks County is reporting another death for a total now of 25 and now 1,396 cases, and Franklin County is reporting another death for a total now of 26 deaths and now 2,021 positive cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been over 6,000 more cases since Thursday for a total of  707,75 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, over 300 more hospitalized for a total of 47,950, and the death count increased by 159 and has now risen to 11,670.
